Newspaper clippings and other memorabilia related to the judicial career of Donald R. Wright (1907-1985). A small amount of material deals with his early appointments to municipal courts in the San Gabriel area, but the bulk of the collection focuses on his appointment and term as Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court, 1970-1977. Materials are arranged chronologically. The clippings have been mounted onto 64 x 49 cm. sheets and are housed in 2 cloth clamshell cases.

Born in Placentia, California on February 7, 1907, Donald R. Wright attended some of the nation's top institutions of learning on his path to becoming a prominent California lawyer and judge. After graduating from Stanford University in 1929, Wright went on to study law at Harvard, where he graduated in 1932.
